2/6/2025 work notes

  1. Lafayette, IN Mayoral race

    1. Was told with certainty by a Lafayette resident that I need to be a Lafayette resident for 1-year to run for Mayor.

    2. Emailed electionboard@tippecanoe.in.gov to request a phone call on this topic.

  2. Indiana Governor race

    1. Emailed the last Democratic and 3rd party candidates to see if they plan to run next time.

  3. West Side Bazaars store front

    1. Emailed local commercial real estate agents for more information on West Lafayette locations with high Purdue student foot traffic.

    2. Followed up by text with local business owners on possibly acquiring their current business.

    3. Received confirmation that I can now place a “buy now” button on all websites and have money flow mostly through  -local bank-.

      1. Note: All business interactions must be as local as possible, this is a key part of the TIL plan. (add to next plan edit)

  4. Detroit, Michigan visit

    1. No response from the Mayor’s office yet.

    2. Will be visiting the following places for research purposes:

2/5/2025 work notes

  1. Almost Home Humane Society (AHHS) Visit

    1. Was previously told in conversation that all the chickens that are picked up in Lafayette are taken to the AHHS. I visited around 5 PM on 2/5/2025 and was greeted by a very nice and welcoming staff. When I asked to see the chickens, they said they had none. When I asked if they ever get chickens, they said never. Where do the chickens go?

      1. Do not plan to look into this further. Assume it will come up down the road in #chickenlafayette discussions.

        1. Note: a large majority of the dogs available seem to be “pit” mixes. I would be interested in seeing statistics on dog breeds brought in. How do they know what mix of dogs it is? What if they just said “mutt”.

        2. Note: All those dogs there would be great additions to farms along the Wabash. I am a good judge of a dog, they all seemed good.

  2. Indiana Egg Board call

    1. Had a great discussion in regards to the Keepers of the Wabash 2044 (KoW44) plan. Main goal of this meeting was to establish a communication channel with the experts.

    2. Here are some thought topics:

      1. USDA regulations of egg grading. Tracking ownership of the eggs through the supply chain? What is changing ownership? “Traceability” of eggs and chickens, maybe cartons….

      2. Will need egg grading stations put in the correct place in our supply chain.

  3. Detroit, Michigan visit

    1. TIL party leadership will be in Detroit, Michigan Saturday 2/8 and 2/9.

      1. Have reached out to Mayor Duggan’s office for a discussion

        1. Note scheduling email provided to reach the Mayor's office does not work, we received a bounce back response, so we called and got someone on the phone.

      2. Will do more research on other community leaders to see if we can discuss things they have done that have worked (and not worked)

      3. Will use the Lafayette Tent and Awning Building location as an example of a city need that Detroit has experience in.

  4. ‘Art Along the Wabash Gold Rush’ updates

    1. Have a meeting with -city leader- about the Shannon Hoon statue scheduled for next week.

    2. In email discussions with TAF leadership, I think they just want to keep an eye on me now 🙂

    3. Had a great discussion with (4) local men between the ages of 18-24 (a guess) about local music and amateur sporting promotion.

      1. We all thought local boxing and weight lifting contests would be a great addition to the community.

        1. Will reach out to boxing contacts after golden gloves are over.

        2. Will look into local weight lifting contests currently happening.

      2. I asked them all to reach out to any regional music acts they would like to see perform in Lafayette and have them contact me directly, and I will see what I can do. One young man messaged 2 Chainz right away, which I really hope works.

2/4/2025 work notes

  1. Met with: -Lafayette resident- at 8:15 PM at Greenbush Burger King

    1. They requested that I start attending Lafayette City Council Meetings

      1. Will hopefully attend the next three (March 3, Apr 7, May 5

        1. Note: “View Events” button goes to a blank calendar.

    2. Who is responsible for illegal dumpings in the city?

      1. They had 6 tires dumped in the back alley between property lines.

        1. Action: took 3 good tires to the farm, put 3 cut-up ones near a trash can.

        2. Conclusion: People are most likely dumping these tires because it costs money to get rid of them. Yes, they are also just being a bad person. But sometimes they need the $20 or whatever. So, someone has to pay to do good, to get the tires to the right place.

    3. Sidewalks are unfit to use in the cities north side

      1. Says an older woman dependent on a walker has to walk in the streets because they cannot traverse the sidewalks.

        1. Referred to one spot of sidewalk as a “ladder”

      2. Also noted that sidewalks are so bad in some spots that children waiting on the bus stand in the road because of them

      3. Are there any ADA requirements anymore for city sidewalks?

        1. Either way, they need to be fixed by someone.

          1. Can the TIP party fix them legally?

    4. Violent Dogs

      1. Gave two personal stories of life altering dog attacks against her on her property, one resulting in the loss of life of her dog.

    5. Voiced concerns with some local neighborhood farming methods.

      1. ~4. and 5. will be addressed in the (currently unwritten) details of my KoW2044! Plan, something needs to be done

  2. Met with: -West Lafayette resident, born in Lafayette - around noon

    1. When asked what they think needs worked on in the community, they stated sex trafficking is bad. When I asked how do they know, they said everybody knows. After a quick conversation, we decided that we must empower the employees of these places to report any suspicious activities, without fear of losing their jobs. Obviously no one wants to let these things go on, and they are already there. So lets start with them. Also discussed people should be required to show some proof that they should be with a minor, or other person that looks peculiar.

      1. Obviously this is a huge issue, but it is above my current abilities, I wouldn’t feel safe going to these places. Possible campaign position.

  3. Facebook interaction: What am I going to do about crime?

    1. Crime is never going away, people just do it. But, lowering the reasons people commit crimes is the best way to do something about it.

    2. My plan starts with #3 in my “City of Lafayette” plan.

I want people to provide for themselves and their children.

  1. Nothing will be given out for free to adults that can work.

  2. Everything will be given to children in need, and they can work for it by learning and playing in the safe spaces we provide.

    1. If a child wants to learn a trade they can work somewhere along the line in a safe capacity. This must be considered a formal education option.

  1. In conjunction with this, most of my “Keepers of the Wabash 2044” plan will have to include employment opportunities for a lot of people.

    1. Steady jobs bring down crime.

    2. Everyone feeling secure in your basic food, water, shelter needs brings down crime.

    3. I bet knowing where your food comes from will bring down crime somehow.
